Fiona Kostidis

From the artist:

Originally from Harcourt and Mount Macedon, I began plein-air painting landscapes in central Victoria. Last year, my partner and I decided to explore further afield and travel through Australia, capturing and interpreting the remote and ancient landscapes in our own artistic ways. This new body of work was painted in a very remote part of the Northern Territory. Having spent most of the last year painting in hot dry desert climates, these new pieces were painted in the tropics during the monsoon season. I hope they convey the humble beauty of the vast savannah: the light, the palette, the humidity, the textures and the timelessness.
